AD I love using seasonal fruit in my recipes so I thought it was the perfect time of year to share my apple and blackberry crumble recipe. Seeing as we are all in lockdown for the next couple weeks it seems like the perfect time for comforting foods!
Apple and Blackberry Oat Crumble
Topping
2 cups (180g) oats
1/4 cup (60g) sugar
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup coconut oil (melted)
Filling
6 apples (about 400g)
200g blackberries
4 tbsp sugar of choice
Method
- Preheat oven to 180°C.
- Firstly make the crumble topping by mixing together the coconut oil, sugar, water and oats together and set aside.
- Peel and chop the apples and place in a tin with the blackberries and sugar
- Mix until evenly coated. Then evenly distribute the crumble topping.
- Bake for around 25 – 30 minutes until the top is golden brown.
